Weiβ Schwarz Cards of the Day: 3rd+6th of May

We rounded out last week with a bunch of Blue Little Busters! cards and followed up with more Little Busters! and Psycho-Pass this week, including a new Anti-Encore card.

[AUTO] When this card is placed on the Stage from your Hand, you may place the top 1 card of your Clock in the Waiting Room.

[AUTO] [(1)] During your turn, if this card’s battle opponent is Reversed, you may pay the Cost. If you do so, choose 1 of your opponent’s Level 3 or below characters, that character cannot Stand during your opponent’s next Stand Phase.

Up first we’ve got a Level 3 Kud that could become quite annoying when supported correctly. Her first effect is a regular healing ability, which means she’ll at least keep you in the game a bit longer, whether she does anything else or not.

Her 2nd effect is where there is potential to cause annoyance, because she could lock down some of your opponent’s offensive capabilities late in the game. The easiest way to pull this off would be to take out any Level 2s still on the Stage, because beating them should be easier.  It might prove a little harder to use this effect when you both have just Level 3s, but with the right support I assume she could become fairly strong.

Then if your opponent has a Level 3 you can’t deal with you can prevent that from Standing, potentially saving you some damage and a character during the next turn. This might even force them to replace the character if they really need the damage. If there’s nothing worth stopping attacking, you could instead go for a support card that requires Resting to use, in order to decrease your opponent’s capabilities on the next turn.

[AUTO] When this card is placed on the Stage from your Hand or via [Change], draw up to 2 cards, then place 1 card from your Hand in the Waiting Room.

[AUTO] If this card’s Level 1 or above Battle opponent is Reversed, draw 1 card. Afterwards place 1 card from your Hand in the Waiting Room.

Our next Level 3 is Komari, who is all about drawing cards. Both of her effects allow you to draw, potentially allowing you to gather up more of your powerful cards during the end of the game. However there are times it might also result in you drawing Climaxes and putting you in a worse position than before.

Her first effect is a normal drawing effect for a Level 3, which allows you to maintain your Hand size, and also get rid of useless cards.

The 2nd effect allows you to draw whenever you defeat a card above Level 0 with her, however you are forced to do this, meaning it could sometimes work against you. Since you also discard afterwards you won’t gain any cards overall, but as before you can at least dump useless ones.

[AUTO] Change [(2) Place this card in your Waiting Room] At the start of your Encore Step, if this card is Rested, you may pay the Cost. If you do so, choose 1 [“Time for fun” Komari] from your Waiting Room, and place it in the Border this card was in.

Our 2nd Komari card allows you to Change into the former one a Level early. This will give you a lot more chance to make use of all of those drawn cards, and will make it easier to use the 2nd ability, because she’ll be facing weaker characters. The change overall has a fairly low cost, only requiring that you pay 1 extra Stock (the Stock needed to play this Komari), compared to just playing the Level 3. However the Change occurs at a slightly awkward time and place. Changing a Rested one during the Encore Step means you’ll probably have had to forgo a Front Attack in order to guarantee she survives. In addition you’ll need to protect the Level 3 for a turn before she can really start to do much.

[CONT] If you have 2 or more other «公安 Public Safety» characters, this card gains Power +1000.

Our first Psycho-Pass card for this week is a straightforward Level 1 Akane. If you have at least two other «公安 Public Safety» characters she’ll reach 7500, which is pretty hefty for a Level 1 card. You can hopefully manage this via Back Stage cards, meaning it’s unlikely you’ll need to worry about her Power dropping. She should be able to beat or at least suicide with most other Level 1 cards out there, and there is little downside to her.

[AUTO] When this card is placed on the Stage from your Hand, during that turn, this card gains Power +1500.

[AUTO] When this card attacks, if [Kurugaya The Invincible] is in your Climax Zone, during that turn, this card gains Power +3000, and your opponent cannot activate [[AUTO] Encore] abilities. (This also applies to [[AUTO] Encore (3)] abilities

We’re back to Little Busters for another Yuiko card, and this time one which can get pretty powerful and also shuts down Encore. Based on what we’ve seen of Yuiko so far it looks like they might be tailoring her towards anti-meta cards.

Her first effect means she’ll be a 9000 on the turn you play her, allowing her to handle plenty of other 2/1s and even a few 2/2s. She’ll drop back down to 7500 afterwards though, making her an easy target and she might even fall to some Level 1 cards.

Beyond this she also has a Climax combo that will be very useful against decks like Angel Beats! or Disgaea, or just in general when you have to make sure something doesn’t come back. Combined with the Climax she’ll get a 4000 Power boost, meaning she’ll be at least 11,500, but could be 13,000 if used on the turn you play her. After accounting for supports there should be little that can stand in her way. On top of this, your opponent cannot use Encore in that turn, meaning you’ll be able to wipe their Stage without any worry that any of them might be coming back.

Finally this is the Climax that goes with the above Yuiko. If you do happen to trigger it, it will be useful for temporarily getting rid of annoying cards.
