Today, yet another of the girls from Love Live! gets her own card, whilst for Vividred we get a break from the girls.
“Wonderful Rush” Koizumi Hanayo
Yellow / Level 2 / Cost 1 / 4000 / 1 Soul / 1 Soul Trigger
[CONT] During your turn, your other character in the Centre Stage middle Border gains Power +500.
[CONT] Assist All of your characters in front of this card gain Power +1000.
Hanayo is a late game support card for Love Live! but will probably be outclassed by other cards once the main set is out. Her first effect makes her slightly better than normal +1000 Assists, but Level support will usually still be better in the long run. The Assist will outmatch Level support for cards below Level 2, match at Level 2, but fall behind come Level 3. This means it might be useful during the Level 1 to 2 switchover, when you might have a few straggling Level 1s, but after this you’d rather have the higher boost for your stronger cards.
The extra power to your central character means they’ll gain 1500, as much as a Level 3 with Level support. During Level 2 this will be a good way to power your cards up, but will still mean she’s outmatched come Level 3.
Great Scientist, Kenjirou
Red / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 2500 / 1 Soul / No Trigger
«人形 Doll» / «科学 Science»
[ACT] [(2) Rest 2 of your characters] Choose 1 character from your Waiting Room, return it to your Hand.
Kenjirou is a salvage card for Vividred, which seems to be getting quite a lot of good cards in its TD alone. His effect is relatively costly, but he does maintain a high enough Power for a Level 0 that he won’t be completely useless when he comes to fighting other cards.
A 2 Stock cost is fairly standard for a salvage like this that leaves you with an extra card, but Resting two characters is more than other similar cards. [Kensuke Aida] from Evangelion for example only needs to be Rested himself, meaning you don’t need any other cards to get the salvage, however unlike Kenjirou, he wouldn’t be able to attack on the same turn. Once you have two Back Stage supports, Kenjirou won’t really care about this anyway, meaning you can salvage without interrupting your ability to attack.
