Weiβ Schwarz Cards of the Day: 26th-27th of March

28 Mar

Two days ago we had yet another double Climax combo, which this time helped support Rin decks. Yesterday we were treated to more Miku cards, along with a high power Level 0 Climax combo. Finally today a support Miku for a vanilla themed version of the deck has been revealed.

Hatsune Miku “Rin-chan fan Number 1”

It's a bit odd having support for what's surely a mainly Yellow deck be in Red.

Red / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 500 / 1 Soul / No Trigger

«音楽 Music» / «愛 Love»

[CONT] All of your other «音楽 Music» characters gain Power +500.

[AUTO] [Place the top 1 card of your Deck into your Clock, Rest 1 of your Standing characters] When [Rin-chan now!] is placed in your Climax Zone, you may pay the Cost. If you do so, all of your other characters whose name includes  [リン Rin], during that turn, gain Power +2000.

Our first support card for the Rin deck is a Miku who can work as a general support card, but will get better in Rin decks. Under normal circumstances she’ll act as a global +500 support, meaning she could actually be used in any Project Diva deck. However unless you use her in a Rin deck, you won’t be able to get the full use out of her. In addition the Assist based Red/Blue deck won’t necessarily like this card, because it doesn’t have Assist.

The second effect is a Climax combo that can give all your Rin a hefty 2000 boost, which should help you win battles at any point in the game. However I’d be a bit wary of using the effect towards the end of the game, since it involves you taking damage in the process. The requirement to Rest a character shouldn’t be too bad, because you’ll usually just be able to Rest this Miku anyway. If you have multiple copies Back Stage, then your army of Rins could become quite deadly, with a +5000 boost for the turn, however the 2 damage could be quite a significant hit.

Megurine Luka “Rin-chan fan Number 2”

Will these clash with Boxer Len?

Red / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 500 / 1 Soul / No Trigger

«音楽 Music» / «愛 Love»

[CONT] Assist All of your characters in front of this card gain Power +500.

[AUTO] [(1) Rest 1 of your Standing characters] When [Rin-chan now!] is placed in your Climax Zone, you may pay the Cost. If you do so, all of your other characters whose name includes  [リン Rin], during that turn, gain the following ability. [[AUTO] When this card’s battle opponent is Reversed, you may place that character on top of the Deck.]

Our second fan is Luka, who like Miku could be used outside of a Rin deck, but can only work to her full potential within a Rin deck. She has the basic Assist effect which you can already find on several cards in the set, so it’s her second effect that has to set her apart.

Like Miku she has a Climax combo that helps all of your Rin cards, but instead of granting a power boost, she instead gives an added effect, which could help you win the game. For a Stock all of your Rin gain the ability to send defeated opponents to the top of your opponent’s Deck, meaning not only can they not come back with Encore, but that your opponent could also take an extra 1 point of damage. You’ll get the most out of this effect from your first 2 attacks, since the latter 2 can benefit from the extra damage output. Whereas the third attack could be used to force the opponent to redraw the defeated character next turn. You’ll probably only want to do this if the card in question is useless or bad for the opponent next turn, since there’d be no point giving them back a card that will just cause problems for you on the next turn.

If you can get both Miku and Luka on the Stage at the same time, the double combo could be quite effective, because Miku’s effect will make it much easier to defeat characters and get Luka’s bonus effect to work.

Rin-chan now!

Rin-chan now! Rin-chan now! Rin-chan Rin-chan Rin-chan now!

Red / 2 Soul Trigger

[AUTO] When this card is placed in the Climax Zone, place the top 1 card of your Deck into Stock, all of your characters, during that turn, gain Soul +1.

This is the Climax to go along with the above combos. Since it gives you an extra Stock by playing it, you’ll always be able to use Luka’s effect.

Hatsune Miku “Pierretta”

Is it panto time for Miku?

Green / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 2500 / 1 Soul / No Trigger

«音楽 Music» / «動物 Animal»

[CONT] If you have 2 or more other «音楽 Music» characters on your Stage, this card gains Power +1000.

Hatsune Miku “Pierretta” has a common effect found in many series, and each time tuned to a common attribute in that series. Since many other «音楽 Music» series exist I’m sure exact copies of this card in all but Name and additional attribute already exist. Ideally you’ll want to accompany this card with 2 support cards, since it allows you to get Miku to full power without exposing your Stage to counter attacks from your opponent. If your opponent fills their Stage faster than you, then you could also get the full power out of this card, by matching their Stage, without paying too heavy a price in cards in the long run. Just be careful that it usually won’t be worth playing the extra cards just for a Power boost if your opponent only has 1 character.

Hatsune Miku “Summer memory”

Blue haired Miku returns.

Green / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 2500 / 1 Soul / No Trigger

«音楽 Music»

[AUTO] [Place the top 1 card of your Deck into your Clock] When this card attacks, if [Time Machine] is in your Climax Zone, you may pay the Cost. If you do so, during that turn, this card gains Power +5500.

This Miku has yet another Climax combo, and this time one that allows her to become incredibly powerful, especially for a Level 0. Just be careful about the damage in the late game. When combined with the Climax she can reach 10,000 before counting support cards, and even with the effect alone she can still reach 8000. This Miku should have no problem blasting through most Level 1 or 2 cards, and might even be able to trade off with some struggling Level 3 cards. She could save you a lot of Stock, and could be useful for those games where you get stuck at a lower Level and can’t match the opponent’s Power normally.

Time Machine

I'm not sure I'd trust Miku with a time machine.

Green / 2 Soul Trigger

[AUTO] When this card is placed in the Climax Zone from your Hand, draw 1 card, choose 1 of your characters, during that turn, it gains Power +2000 and Soul +1.

This is the Climax that goes with the above Miku, and can help her reach the 10,000 mark.

“Continuation of a Dream” Hatsune Miku

Just what you always wanted, a vanilla themed deck.

Green / Level 1 / Cost 1 / 3500 / 1 Soul / 1 Soul Trigger

«音楽 Music»

[CONT] All of your other characters whose name includes [Continuation of a Dream] gain Power +1000.

[AUTO] [(1)] When [Continuation of a Dream] is placed in the Climax Zone, you may pay the Cost. If you do so, all of your characters, during that turn, gain Power +X. X is equal to the number of characters whose name includes  [Continuation of a Dream] x 1000.

Our final Miku support card for the week lets you build a [Continuation of a Dream] deck, by giving them a strong Power boost. However it looks like the deck consists of a bunch of vanillas, based on the next card, and what we saw back at the start of the month. Miku won’t be much help to Luka, since she’ll come to late, but she will help push Rin and Len to 8000 and 9500 respectively. You’ll probably get the most out of this effect during Level 1, when you usually won’t have access to comparable power boosts. During Level 2 there’s things like Level support to consider instead.

However the Climax combo is what can set this card apart from other support cards, because it could provide massive Power boosts to the entirety of your Stage, and they don’t necessarily all have to be cards from within the theme. With just herself and one other [Continuation of a Dream] card, she’ll give a +2000 boost to everyone, matching for example the Rin support card from earlier in terms of Power. This can easily ramp up quite quickly as you fill the Stage, and especially if you can get extra copies of this card onto the Stage. A full Stage would mean a +5000 boost on top of the normal 10000, which can push the vanillas well beyond what they can normally defeat. With two copies of this card you’d be looking at +10,000 from the combo and another +2000 from the first effect. This would allow even the Level 0 Luka to defeat most Level 3 cards in the game, meaning Rin and Len would be practically unstoppable.

If you decide to dedicate yourself to this build, the combo could be very deadly, however you’ll have the drawbacks of relying on several vanillas, and the fact that your other cards will be lacking support.

“Continuation of a Dream” Megurine Luka

I'd be worried about the colour mix in a "Continuation of a dream" deck.

Red / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 3000 / 1 Soul / No Trigger

«音楽 Music»

No effect.

Your basic vanilla, but it does fit within the [Continuation of a Dream] Deck.

Continuation of a Dream

Is everyone getting ready for a Spirit Bomb?

Green / 2 Soul Trigger

[AUTO] When this card is placed in the Climax Zone from your Hand, place the top card of your Deck into Stock, all of your characters, during that turn, gain Soul +1.

As you might expect, this is the Climax that goes along with “Continuation of a Dream” Hatsune Miku. Since you gain a Stock you’ll always be able to use the Climax combo of at least 1 copy of that card.
