Before we start today’s preview it’s worth noting that Bushiroad have announced an errata for “Spirit of a NEET”, Akane from yesterday. Her effect also carries a 1 Stock cost. Since this ups her overall cost it reduces her usefulness.
Now onto the new cards for today, and we’re back to the two Rewrite Harvest Festa! in addition to a single Accel World card.
Dear explorer, Akane
Red / Level 3 / Cost 2 / 10000 / 2 Soul / 1 Soul Trigger
«魔法 Magic» / «オカルト Occult»
[AUTO] [(1)] If this card’s battle opponent is put to Reverse during your turn, you may pay the cost. If you do so, choose 1 of your opponent’s Front Stage Level 2 or below characters, and put it to the top of the Deck.
[AUTO] [Put 1 of your characters in Stand to Rest] When your other character is put from Hand to the Stage, you may pay the cost. If you do so, this card gains Power +1500 for that turn.
The Dear Explorer version of Akane is a Level 3 card that lacks any of the usual effects you’d expect to see attached to Level 3s. Instead she has what could be quite a deadly effect to make up for this. If she beats a character in battle you can send an opponent’s Level 2 or lower Front Stage character to the top of their deck. If it works, not only you’ll not only get a free direct attack later in the turn, but you’ll also guarantee at least 1 damage, or at least decrease the chance of getting cancelled.
However it’s reliant on the opponent still having lower Level characters around during the late game. This is most likely to happen if you manage to hit Level 3 first, but can also happen during those games where your opponent simply can’t put 3 Level 3s down at once.
Her other effect allows her to become a deadly card in battle, making her first effect even easier to pull off. Every time you play another character from your hand she could gain 1500, however this requires you to Rest a character. Since you can often Rest your Back Stage characters with no worries it wouldn’t be too unusual to see her hit 13000 before even considering supports. Unless you’re really desperate it’s unlikely you’ll need to go higher, but you could for example play a character, rest them and then replace them with another character until you run out of cards. I wouldn’t advise this though.
You need to remember also that if you manage to keep your Stage filled you’re unlikely to be able to give Akane a power boost, since otherwise you’d just be wasting cards.
Celebrating the harvest, Chibi-Moth
Yellow / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 3000 / 1 Soul / No Trigger
«動物 Animal» / «使い魔 Familiar»
He’s just a vanilla.
Sea of cushions, Chiyuri
Green / Level 1 / Cost 0 / 1500 / 1 Soul / No Trigger
«アバター Avatar» / «動物 Animal»
[CONT] All your other Characters gain Power +500.
[AUTO] [(1) Rest 2 of your Standing Characters] When you use ACCELERATION, you may pay the cost. By doing so, put the top card of your Clock to your Waiting Room.
This Chiyuri support card works as a general support card, but its main use is meant to be for reducing the pain of Acceleration effects. Normally she’ll just give a global +500, which is useful during the early game, but will become outclassed during the late game. However her second effect can be useful at any point during the game in an Acceleration heavy deck.
Whenever you use an Acceleration effect Chiyuri will allow you to heal the damage immediately, essentially turning the cost of all Acceleration effects into 1 Stock and Rest 2 characters, but you do get to thin your deck by one. If you play nothing else that requires Resting it might be handy, but otherwise you’ll just end up cutting into your attack capabilities. You also have to remember this effect won’t help if the Acceleration causes you to Level up.
