I’m keeping a bit more on top of things this time, but still not quite managing to do things once per day. Fortunately though I only need to cover 2 days at once this time. As you might expect by now we’ve been getting yet more iM@S cards, this time for Hikari, Iori and Kotori.
Shinkan Girl, Hikari
Yellow / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 3000 / 1 Soul / No Trigger
«音楽 Music» / «スポーツ Sports»
This is just a standard Level 0 Vanilla.
Sports meet, Iori
Green / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 2500 / 1 Soul / No Trigger
«音楽 Music» / «人形 Doll»
[AUTO] When this card’s battle opponent is put to Reverse, choose 1 of your «音楽 Music» characters, and it gains Power +2000 for that turn.
This Iori card is a powerful support card, provided you can pull her off. Rather than staying Back Stage like most other supporters she has to actively go on the offensive in order to provide her quite hefty 2000 boost. If you can pull this off it can quite easily turn the tide of battle in the early game, when it’s unlikely you’ll need to worry about Counters. Of course in order to achieve this she has to win battles, which given her 2500 power will depend entirely on what the opponent plays. If they play Reversers or other weaker cards with strong effects she should be able to easily run them over and give another character a power boost. However if the opponent is only playing cards with above 3000 power you’ll struggle to win a battle without lots of added support. The opponent can also stop Iori being useful by only playing one character to the Front Stage at a time.
Yellow / Level 1 / Cost 0 / 1000 / 1 Soul / No Trigger / Counter
«音楽 Music» / « 和服 Japanese Traditional Clothes»
[AUTO] CHANGE [(2) Put 1 card from Hand to the Waiting Room, put this card to the Waiting Room] At the beginning of your Climax Phase, you may pay the cost. If you do so, choose 1 [Secret diva, Kotori] from your Waiting Room and put it in the Border this card was in.
[ACT][Counter] BACKUP 1500 Level 1 [Put this card in Hand to the Waiting Room]
The first of the Kotori pair combines a Counter card with a Change card. The Counter ability is the standard for a 1/0. This’ll save you from some battles and since it’s free you don’t have to worry about losing stock, it will however be fairly easy for the opponent to get over this power range if they have to.
Since Kotori also has a change ability it means that if you don’t want to or don’t need to use her as a Counter you can instead get out Secret diva, Kotori, with a huge 9500 attack, which is fairly big for Level 2, let alone during Level 1.
The multi-utility of this Kotori card makes her quite powerful.
Secret diva, Kotori
Yellow / Level 2 / Cost 1 / 9500 / 1 Soul / 1 Soul Trigger
«音楽 Music» / «ドレス Dress»
[AUTO] When this card is put from Hand to the Stage, reveal the top 1 card of your Deck. If that card is a Climax card, return this card to the Deck. Shuffle that Deck.
This 2nd Kotori card is very powerful, but comes with a massive downside attached to her. At 9500 power she is well above the curve for a 2/1, and can match or overpower many 2/2s. She isn’t too far off the power level of some Level 3s either. Of course this much power has to have a downside though, which is the fact that when you play her from your Hand you may lose her, with no way to bring her back, whilst also increasing the size of your deck and hence the potential to be damaged. This won’t happen that often, but when it does it will be devastating for you. There is though a way round this, which is via Jacket, Kotori, who dodges this effect entirely, for a greater Cost. As mentioned before though this will often be a Level early, when this Kotori can be truly devastating.
