A new week means a new set of card previews. This time we’re moving onto the new iDOLM@STER cards, which I believe are from the anime series this time. It also seems that we’re getting the TD cards first, so expect a lot of simple cards. In order to save on space I’ll be referring to the series as iM@S from now on, since this seems to be an accepted abbreviation.
In case anyone was wondering, the reason why I didn’t do cards for last Friday was because the pair on that day had already been revealed on previous days, so didn’t feel it worth talking about them again.
Idol newbie, Haruka
Red / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 1000 / 1 Soul / No Trigger
«音楽 Music» / «お菓子 Sweets»
[C] All of your other «音楽 Music» characters gain Power +500.
This Haruka card is excellent for «音楽 Music» themed decks, like of course iM@S is, but could also fit into one of the many other decks like Symphogear or Macross if you wanted to play Standard. I’m not entirely sure if a duplicate of this card already exists for «音楽 Music», but if it does you could still use this version for a character specific iM@S deck.
Global supports have the advantage over the normal supports in that it’s possible to power up 3 attackers instead of 2, but it restricts your attribute choice. You’ll want to reduce the number of cards this doesn’t boost, or play cards like Reversers which don’t really care about the power boost anyway, otherwise you could find yourself lacking in power. Another advantage is that on some occasions you might play it to the Front Stage, so you could play 3 or more support cards at once. Sure the Front Stage ones won’t last more than a turn, but it does allow you to push with a bit more power than normal.
Personally I feel that unless the deck can’t support sticking to a single attribute, global boosts will always be better than just boosts to the two Characters in front.
Red / Gate Trigger
[C] All of your characters gain Power +1000 and Soul +1.
Not much to say, just your standard Gate Trigger. Useful that it’s in a TD since it means it’ll be easier to get 4 of them.
Hibiki challenge, Hibiki
Red / Level 2 / Cost 1 / 8500 / 1 Soul / 1 Soul Trigger
«音楽 Music» / «動物 Animal»
This Hibiki is just a vanilla, like you would expect to see in a TD.
Ramen hunter, Takane
Blue / Level 0 / Cost 0 / 3000 / 1 Soul / No Trigger
«音楽 Music» / «王族 Royalty»
[C] When this card is on the Stage, this card gains «ラーメン Ramen».
This Takane card is basically a vanilla, but comes with a bonus ability that allows her to have 3 attributes. I think this is mainly just to fit in with her character, who appears to love ramen, without sacrificing her other attributes. If you wanted to play Standard she could also be useful to boost cards like [Beach Volley Ball Haruhi], who gains +500 for every unique attribute you have on Stage, since she’d gain +1500 from this card, as opposed to the usual +1000 you’d get from normal characters.
